Take a Stand
To recognize the Warriors taking a stand against breast cancer, Neighborhood Ford Store enlists the help of talented and dedicated Volunteer Quilters. Warrior Quilts are made of fabric squares sent in by mail or decorated at Neighborhood Ford Store’s events. The squares are then placed in the hands of Neighborhood Ford Store’s dedicated Volunteers so they can work their beautiful magic. In October – which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month – Warrior Quilts are donated to breast-cancer treatment centers at hospitals and clinics throughout the region. Decorating events also are planned, and more details will be available by following Neighborhood Ford Store on Facebook for the latest information – www.facebook.com/neighborhoodfordstore

How to Participate

There are four ways to participate in Neighborhood Ford Store’s Quilt for the Cure:

  • Schedule a mammogram – and/or remind another person to make an appointment for that annual screening.

  • Send in a decorated square of encouragement or remembrance or attend a Neighborhood Ford Store decorating event.

  • If you are a quilter, request information about volunteering to make a Warrior Quilt.

Create and Decorate

Squares should be cut from cotton fabric 5” x 5” dimension, then decorated with fabric markers, paint or stamping tools. IMPORTANT NOTE: The squares will be 4” x 4” when sewn together, so leave a half-inch/inch border all the way around when decorating.

Send or Deliver

Decorated squares that are made at home or school or at your activity can be mailed.

Contact Nancy Lewis at Nancy.Lewis@gtb.com.

Volunteers are Welcomed

If you are interested in volunteering to sew a Warrior Quilt from the squares collected, please contact Nancy Lewis at Nancy.Lewis@gtb.com

for more information and details.
